Maryland Strong: Roadmap to Recovery May 2, 2020
As Maryland enters into its 30th day from the original ‘Stay-At-Home’ order, citizens grow impatient as the time clock runs out on the Federal Stay-at-home recommendations. Gov. Larry Hogan (R) of Maryland shared that ReOpening the states economy safely is a top priority, as he introduced a guide for his “phasing plan”. Back on March 5th, 2020, Hogan took unprecedented measures and announced a surprising ‘State of Emergency’ order amid at the coronavirus threats ahead of the Federal government, under the Trump administration. These actions taken by Hogan have been met with backlash from critics, and yet praises from others citizens of Maryland. Gov. Larry Hogan is believed to have protected many Marylander lives as hospital remained stable, *with no current or recent reports of overcrowding. Last week, as Covid-19 testing increased, so did the numbers of those infected. Hogan has taken more aggressive steps to reduce the possibility of overcrowding at medical facilities, reserving Marylands own medical supply tests, and providing assistance and financial relief to those protecting us and deemed essential workers on the frontlines.
